ROJEAN LOUCKS, Salina Harpist, in Church November 22, 2009
RoJean Loucks, Salina, began her harp journey with the purchase of a small harp fifteen years ago, never imagining it would become a career path. When she discovered the potential healing qualities of the instrument, she completed a professional training program for preparation in presenting the most effective music in a variety of circumstances. A Certified Music Practitioner, RoJean has experienced the therapy of the harp on a firsthand basis, initially through her husband’s cancer diagnosis and more recently with her own.
Don't Go to Church Sunday a Success!
Eleven folks showed up to work around town on Sunday, October 25. Nine were church attenders and two participants were from the community. We worked diligently in Linda Ayala's yard to prepare it for winter and, especially, to ready it for her to start fresh in the spring. We also did some yard work for Victor Bastin, including the removal of a decorative short fence line made of antique wire. A group of women went to the Van Buskirk's to paint the inside of their fence. Some additional work was done in the church. the four-hour work stint ended with a potluck diner in Fellowship Hall.
Financial Peace University Being Offered Again
Dave Ramsey's popular Financial Peace University will be offered once again through the Matfield Community Church, beginning the second Sunday in January, 2010. Jane Koger has agreed to lead the class through the 13 week program. The church will give a $25 discount on each kit purchased for this class - up to 10 kits.
